Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026. By using TestMyFPS, you agree to these terms. The short version: use the tools freely, don't abuse the service, and understand that test results are informational only.

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using TestMyFPS (https://testmyfps.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

Description of service

TestMyFPS provides free, in-browser display testing tools including but not limited to: FPS test, refresh rate test, UFO motion blur test, ghosting test, frame skip test, dead pixel test, polling rate test, input lag test, and resolution detector. All tools run entirely in your browser and do not transmit test data to our servers.

No warranty

The tests and information provided by TestMyFPS are offered "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The tests will be accurate, reliable, or complete.
  • The tests will work on every device, browser, or operating system.
  • The site will be available at all times without interruption.
  • The test results will match results from professional display calibration equipment.

Browser-based tests are inherently limited by the browser's rendering pipeline, the OS's display driver, and the device's hardware. Test results should be considered approximate and informational, not authoritative. For professional display calibration, use a hardware colorimeter and dedicated calibration software.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TestMyFPS and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the service, including but not limited to:

  • Damage to your hardware, software, or data.
  • Decisions made based on test results (e.g. monitor purchase decisions, monitor returns, warranty claims).
  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities.
  • Any other commercial damages or losses.

Acceptable use

You agree to use TestMyFPS only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the service to attempt to harm, disrupt, or overload our servers or infrastructure.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access the service at high frequency.
  • Reproduce, duplicate, or resell the service without permission.
  • Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

Intellectual property

The TestMyFPS website, including its design, code, content, and branding, is the intellectual property of TestMyFPS. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the site without explicit written permission.

The underlying display testing methodologies (e.g. the UFO motion blur test) are not proprietary to TestMyFPS. The original UFO test was pioneered by Blur Busters, and we acknowledge their contribution to the field.

Third-party links

TestMyFPS may link to third-party websites (e.g. monitor manufacturers, retailers, reference sites). We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of these third-party sites. Use them at your own risk.

Changes to the service and terms

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice. We also reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Your continued use of the service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of India.
